#WashiWednesday: Custom clipboard

I didn't really use clipboard before I became a teacher, but now I use them like giant paper clips! I use different boards for different days of the week to keep all the papers I need for that day in one place. I stack them on my desk, slide them into hanging pocket folders, or line them up in a filing cabinet. When I need a set of papers I can simply grab the clipboard and take it with me.

If you are using clipboards as an organizational tool, it can be helpful to color code them (by class, by day of the week, by assignment type, etc). If you do not intend to use them as an organizational tool, you can still decorate with washi tape looks pretty!

I found this set of tape on sale at Michael's. If color-matching and designing is not your forte, a pre-assembled set of washi tape can be a great way to make sure that your project is color-coordinated.

^ I added a few additional tapes to the set for more variety in my project.

^ The edges are the hardest part to do neatly. Start by smoothing the tape out on one side, and then gently folding over to smooth the other side.

Continue laying strips of tape across the surface of the clipboard. Use scissors or an Exacto knife to trim the tape around the clip.

Although you can't see it in the picture, I matched the stripes on the back of the clipboard as well.
